Oktoberfest 2016 – Munich Hotels and Holiday Rentals

There is nothing like experiencing the Bavarian culture than being at Theresienwiese in Munich during the traditional festival of Oktoberfest. The preparations for the annual beer festival or as the locals simply call it ‘Wiesn’ take place 6 months in advance and the locals certainly look forward to hosting the world’s largest beer hall in September. If your city is about to welcome seven million visitors during the fortnight alone just to dance, drink beer and eat roast chicken, there would be plenty planning and sprucing up to do. But the city isn’t alone in prior planning mode, travellers who wish to experience the festival have to shop and research well ahead of time to get the best accommodation and deals near the Marienplatz or Theresienwiese in Munich. Now would be a great time to get your Oktoberfest holiday wheels in motion and we have curated a list of luxury abode near Marienplatz and English Garden that would be suitable for a group of four.

Munich Landmarks – Munich is probably the Manhattan of Germany and it does have its own green spaces that can spread over miles. One of most central locations for luxury hotels is Marienplatz owing to its popularity for locals and tourists to get together for food or shopping and of course MarienHof. The English Garten is a 3 mile long vast expanse of manicured garden styled much like the ones in England. It is the place to be and be seen if you wish to live like a local in Munich especially during the summer. The accommodations we have selected are close to Theresienwiese as much these landmarks and transportation via a U-Bahn from Marienplatz to Theresienwiese is effortless. Munich is not a car friendly city much like the towns in England or Italy and your best way to commute would be a bicycle or the local transport. But for the Oktoberfest revellers we’d recommend the U-Bahn to be safe. For more city information please visit munchen.de

The first stop on our accommodation shopping spree was Airbnb and as we filtered out the ones with our requirements in a luxury abode there were two plush homes that were most suitable. Maxvorstadt is a neighbourhood close to Marienplatz and the 2 bedrooms sprawling apartment offered by Sabine and a 2 bedrooms terrace loft near English Garden by Melanie has all a group of four would need during a festival tour. It is no surprise that like every good accommodation on Airbnb this one too has restrictions for smoking, parties, pets but aren’t you partying out at the fest anyways?

HomeAway doesn’t spoil you with too many great choices to choose from but the one’s we found were good choices. A 3 bedrooms skyline penthouse apartment and a 3 bedrooms terrace Maisonette penthouse close to Marienplatz, Theresienwiese and city center.
